Racing is the pinnacle of any athlete's career, spending hours of training in the gym, out on the bike and then seeing whether all the hours of hard work have paid off. I have spent much of my time racing, It doesn't always go my way, but when it does it's the greatest feeling in the world, knowing it's all paid off.
With all my years of racing different disciplines, from
BMX to MTB, I feel like I have acquired much knowledge from over the years which best prepares me for a race. I set myself training programs, from weight training in the gym to sprints out on the bike. However , it isn't all about getting those gym sessions in, alot comes into feeling ‘race ready’, such as diet, training, mental and physical status. These all play a big role in your success as an athlete.
