Race Ready

Racing is the pinnacle of any athlete's career, spending hours of training in the gym, out on the bike and then seeing whether all the hours of hard work have paid off. I have spent much of my time racing, It doesn't always go my way, but when it does it's the greatest feeling in the world, knowing it's all paid off.

With all my years of racing different disciplines, from BMX to MTB, I feel like I have acquired much knowledge from over the years which best prepares me for a race. I set myself training programs, from weight training in the gym to sprints out on the bike. However , it isn't all about getting those gym sessions in, alot comes into feeling ‘race ready’, such as diet, training, mental and physical status. These all play a big role in your success as an athlete.

But feel like you are missing something then some advice from someone with much experience racing maybe what you need. If you participate within one of my coaching sessions then I will happily give race or training advice at the end of the session. If you just want race or training advice but have not participated in one of my coaching sessions then there will be an additional fee.

Some FAQs

  • How long have you been racing for?

    10 years

  • How will your training improve my riding?

I have had much experience racing and riding, I have picked up lots of information and skills throughout my career, from fellow racers, my coaches and 3 years at university studying sports.

  • Does it matter if I don't race but still want a training program?

No this is fine, I will provide advice for anyone, even if you want to get fit and better yourself.

  • Is there an ability or age limit for this?

No of course not, all are welcome.

  • How am I supposed to eat before, during and after a race?

This is vital, what you eat depends on how much energy you will be getting. It also depends on what type of race you are doing. Long or short distance. For long distance carb loading 3 days before, and the morning of the race foods such as fruit, toast and plenty of water.
